hi  Ansuman Panda,

Please find below the solution to the asked query:

During summers the river have greater evaporation rate and the soil has greater retention rate because of which the volume of flow of river is comparatively lower as during rainy seasons.

Rivers which are not fed by mountains glaciers are almost in dry state with vast patches of dry land but those which are perennial rivers and are fed by mountains have a continuos flow due to melting of ice during summers form the ice capped glacial mountains.

Rivers may even flood if the temperature rise to uneven levels and that is the main effect as observed today by the metrological department in context with the global warming.

But in general owing to a equilibrium between the evaporation rate of the rivers and the the supply rate of the melted glacial waters the rivers don't flood in general but under extreme circumstances the other is possible and as said above ,the main cause for this will be global warming.
