Rivet is a round rod which holds two metal pieces together permanently. Rivets are made from mild steel bars with yield strength ranges from 220 N/mm2 to 250 N/mm2. A rivet consists of a head and a body as shown in Fig 5.1. The body of rivet is termed as shank.
