The Road not Taken
Robert Frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood
and sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveller, long I stood
and looked down one as far as I could
to where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
and having perhaps the better claim
because it was grassy and wanted wear;
though as for that, the passing there
had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
in leaves no feet had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I --
I took the one less travelled by,
and that has made all the difference

1.) the poet took the road which was less travelled by as he wanted to do something different in his life.
2.) in this poem the poet depicts his dilemma. he was in a confusion about what path he should choose, which one would be more beneficial, which one would he actually like. he tells us about this by his journey in yellow woods where he found two roads but could travel only one.
3.)the word wood actually means forest. here by the woods the forest meant about different choices. he had many choices to choose from and out of those he found two paths the best but he couldn't travel on two paths at the same time.
4.)in the yellow wood the poet saw two roads diverging. those two roads actually were the two different choices or paths he had but he had to choose one. those roads were that which would decide his future.
5.)one path was the one which was travelled by many people therefore it was a common path but the other was a wanted wear becoz very few people had travelled it and it seemed almost unused and something adventurous.
6.)he wanted a path which would prove to be beneficial to him. while choosing it he was in a thought that is the path he chose okay for him. what if he have to come back to move on the different path which would be even more difficult. he was worrying about his future.
