There is no beginning or end of rock cycle as parent rock due to the effect of heat, water, pressure and wind breaks into smaller rock and they into soil ,

then the soil due to the effect of tectonic movements, pressure and heat again forms parent rock.

This cycle goes on repeating just like water cycle , hence has no end or beginning.

Rock cycle is a cyclic process of rock transformation.

Explanation:

  • The rock cycle describes the transitions of rocks through the geologic time form the primary rock i.e igneous to the secondary rocks as sedimentary and metamorphic.
  • As an example of basalt an igneous rocks that break and are exposed to air get eroded slowly sediments are formed and later on turns to metamorphic though compaction and heat.  And on melting the same rock process is repeated.
  • Thus the entire cycle of rocks starts with the release of magma which solidified form crystals to igneous rocks called intrusive or plutonic.
  • As and when they come in contact with the surface get divided into fragments and they accumulate and consolidate into sediments like limestone, sandstone, etc.
  • Metamorphism of the ricks starts when the theses rocks are subjected to physical and chemical alterations. That is re-crystallization by heat and pressure.
