They inform, educate and entertain people. They also influence the way people look at the world and make them change their views. Mass media plays a very important role in organizing public opinion. ... Mass media denotes a section of the media specifically designed to reach a large audience.
Mass media has a massive role to play in common man’ s life. It’ s not possible for people to visit all the places to know the actual situations. So they follow the media for that. People depend on them for news feed, gk, guidance and much more. Mass media has the power to make or break the country. For any country to prosper, Media plays a vital role and it’ s very much needed for the media to be independent and unbiased.
But now a days, media is being radicalised. They are forced to spread the information to influence people by means of money and political pressure.
I am not sure about other countries but in India, I feel that Media shows mainly political news. Their main focus is to get TRP and money. They don’t seem to care about their audions that much. Some of them even criticize if one tries to express his/ her independent thinking. Most of them are radicalising the people. They are killing people’ s rational.
Many medias are now competing each other to influence people in two different directions. Many of them targets masala news instead of streaming more important news.
Anyway, Not all medias are influenced. But it’ s very much important for the people not to follow any media content blindly and use their rational for their judgement as many of the industries, institutions, politicians etc are using media as their weapon to monopolise people in their way.
