“Since about a month, the youth have become a new force in the Philippines Very soon, every young man and woman here will be called upon to be leaders in their community. “A real leader is not the one who necessarily makes a lot of noise or one who breaks windows. A real leader is someone who has a certain amount of security within himself- can think for himself and can stand on his own feet. If you are going to be leaders, there are three important things to do. First, be really aware of yourselves and what is going on in our country. In spite of differences, you all belong to one nation. Second, develop a sense of commitment to the Philippines. Commitment means much more than just standing up to the tune of the National Anthem. It means contributing something to the progress and development of the Philippines no matter how small. It means doing your work faithfully and well. It also means upholding the ideals and heritage of the Filipino nation. Third, respect each other and work well with each other.
