Sliding friction is the force resisting the motion when a body slides on a surface and rolling friction is the force resisting the motion when a body is rolling on a surface. Rolling friction is less than sliding friction because the force of friction depends on the area of contact of the body to the surface. The area of contact in the rolling friction is less than in the sliding friction.

Hope it helps and plz make it the brainliest answer

Answer:

Rolling friction is less than static friction because when some load start moving the contact points of the both surface do not get enough time to get interlocked and hence reduce the friction so rolling friction is less than sliding friction and taiches are therefor fitted with rollers
