Answer:

Check the attachment for diagram.

Length of roof = 8 m high ( AB )

Distance from roof to peg = 6 m ( BC

Length of rope = ? ( AC )

We know that, Roof is perpendicular to Ground. Hence we get a right angle triangle as shown in attachment.

Applying Pythagoras Theorem we get,

=> AB² + BC² = AC²

=> 6² + 8² = AC²

=> 36 + 64 = AC²

=> 100 = AC²

=> AC = √ 100

=> AC = 10 m

Hence the minimum length of the rope required is 10m.

HEY MATE HERE IS YOUR ANSWER

DIAGRAM IN ATTACHMENT
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
HIEGHT OF ROOF OF BUILDING = 8m
DISTANCE FROM ROOF TO PEG = 6m
TO FIND
LENGHT OF ROOF ?
SOLUTION
~~~~~~~~~~

Applying Pythagoras Theorem

 {ab}^{2} + {bc}^{2} = {ac}^{2} \\ {6}^{2} + {8}^{2} = {ac}^{2}
36 + 64 = {ac}^{2}
100 = {ac}^{2}
ac = 10
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From the above solution and by using pythagoras theorem we get lenght 10 metres.
