The room of Anita is 9 m long and 5 m wide. She wants to cover the floor of her bedroom with square tiles of side 30 cm.

a) What is the area of the floor in cm ?

b) Find the number of square tiles needed to cover the floor of the room.

Area of floor = 4500 cm^2

Number of tiles to cover floor = 4500/ 900

= 5 tiles
