  • Anita wants to cover the floor of her bedroom with square tiles of side 30 cm.

To find : The number of square tiles needed to cover the floor of the bedroom ?

Solution : Let, Anita's room be rectangular in shape.

Now, according to given,

→ Length of room = 9 m

→ Breadth of room = 5 m

Now,

→ Area of floor of bedroom

= length * breadth

→ Area of floor of bedroom

= 9 * 5

→ Area of floor of bedroom

= 45 m²

→ side of square tile = 30 cm = 0.3 m

→ Area of square tile = ( side )²

→ Area of square tile = ( 0.3 )²

→ Area of square tile = 0.09 m²

Now, to find number of square tiles needed to cover the floor of the bedroom.

→ Number of square tiles = 45/0.09
