The root of Sweet potato is modified in the form of tuber. Why?​

Even though the part of the potato we eat grows inside the ground, it is not the root of the plant, but a tuber(the underground part of the stem). Whereas,Sweet potato is a root tuber because these are adventitious roots that become thick and fleshy due to storage of food and are swollen without any definite shape.
