The roots of quadratic equations ( k-12) x^2 +2 ( k-12 )x +2 = 0 are equal , then the value of k is

If roots of eauation are equal the D = 0


d  = b {}^{2}  - 4ac

 \: b = 2(k - 12) \: a = (k - 12) \: c = 2

putting values ....

(2k - 24) {}^{2}  - 4(k - 12)(2) = 0

4k {}^{2}  + 576 - 96 - 8k + 96 = 0

4k {}^{2}  - 8k + 576 = 0
After factorising above equation we will get values of k.
