let, x+2y=4...... eq.(1) &

2y - x=0, it can be written as -(x-2y) =0 then the - will go to the right side then it will be x-2y=0.....eq.(2)

next, eq. (1) + eq. (2) will be,

x+2y= 4

x- 2y=0

addition 2x= 4

then, x= 2

then, applying x=2 in eq. (2) {Or you can do with eq(1) }

x-2y=0

it will, 2-2y=0 then,2=2y , then, y=2/2 =1

so , x=2,&y=1
