| x - 2 |² + | x - 2 | - 6 = 0

| x - 2 |² + 3| x - 2 | - 2| x - 2 | - 6 = 0

| x - 2 | ( | x - 2 | + 3 ) - 2 ( | x - 2 | + 3 ) = 0

( | x - 2 | + 3 ) ( | x - 2 | - 2 ) = 0

Therefore ,

( | x - 2 | + 3 ) = 0 or ( | x - 2 | - 2 ) = 0

| x - 2 | = - 3 or | x - 2 | = 2

x - 2 = -( -3 ) or x - 2 = 2

x - 2 = 3 or x = 2 + 2

x = 3 + 2 or x = 4

x = 5 or x = 4
