Hey there
-------------

x² + x - 6 = 0

➯ x² +3 x - 2 x - 6 = 0

➯ ( x² + 3x ) - ( 2x - 6 ) =0

➯ x ( x + 3 ) - 2 ( x + 3 ) = 0

➯ ( x+ 3 ) ( x - 2 ) = 0

➯ x = -3 , 2

Hence roots are , x = -3 and 2

Hope this would help you !

This is a quadratic equation. We can solve this by either completing the square method or by using the quadratic formula. I am going to use the formula.
Here a=1
b=1
c=-6
Using the formula,
x = ( - b  +or -  \sqrt{{b }^{2} - 4ac}  ) \div 2a
=-1 +or- √(-1)^2 - 4(1)(- 6) ÷2(1)
Solving, we get
x=2, x=-3.
The roots are 2 and -3.
