These lines show the idea that even enjoyment can become unbearable. The poet in these lines is stating that when the moonlight passing through the gaps amidst bamboo trees falls on white lotus, the white lotus looks as if it a silver cup. The beauty of the moonlight and lotus will fill anyone with wonder where they can either feel inebriated or be amazed by the beauty of the garden and keep gazing at it for too long.
