The S.I. unit of temperature is Kelvin(K). It has been named after physicist and engineer William Thomson.

Kelvin is used as the primary measurement unit in physical sciences for temperature, but for global convention, degree Celsius is used, which is known to have the exact same magnitude and in some western countries, Fahrenheit scale is used.
