.a. Sahara desert is the largest desert in the World which stretches around 11 countries in Africa.
b. The desert is of great importance particularly ever since the discovery of oil in the region .
c. It is characterised by scorching heat and dry weather. In fact , many parts of Sahara receive very less or no rain for years.
d. Vegetation found here includes cactus, acacia etc.
e. They have the ability to adapt and survive to such extreme hot weather conditions.
f. Most of the vegetation found here has the ability to conserve water. We may give example of Cacti.
g. Vegetation here generally absorbs water in their thick stems.
h. These plants also grow lower and have long roots to reach area of moisture and water.
i. Some of the animals found in Sahara desert are camels, Barbary sheep, oryx, anubis baboon, jackals.
j. People in the desert comprises of both permanent communities and those who move from pace to place.
