Ex:- The sun rises in the east.

In the form of direct speech :-

★ The exact words of the speaker are repeated.

★ The words of the speaker and enclosed within inverted commas.

★The introductory verb is said .

In the form of indirect speech:-

★The speakers were directed by someone in his or her words.

★Since the exact words of the speaker not reproduced the inverted commas are removed.

★The introductory verb is said or told

Rules for changing direct speech into indirect speech:-

★ The inverted commas are omitted in the direct speech .

★ The tense of the reporting verb should never be changed.

★ We use linker before the Indirect speech.

★ The first letter with an inverted commas will not remind capital in the invited speech .

★ The pronoun should be changed according to the sense of speech.

The boy will say that he is busy.

✨The officer shouted to his man, "Halt!"
