Let salaries of a & b be x & Y respectively.
Now, total salary, X + Y = 2000. Eqn (1)
& savings of X be 5% and Y be 15%.
Therefore, A's saving be 5/100 * X and B's be 15/100 * Y.
Equating the two..
5/100* X = 15/100 * Y
=> X = 3Y.
Put the value of X in Eqn 1.
You will get, 3Y + Y = 2000..
=>Y = 500..
So, X = 1500..
Salaries of A & B be 1500 & 500 respectively.
