Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let Original salary of man be Rs x

Current salary of man = Rs 9936

Thus, change in salary = Rs (9936 - x)

Percent increase = 15%

We know that,

% increase = (Amount change/Original amount) x 100

or  15 =  (100)(9936 - x)/x

or (9936 - x)/x  =  15/100

or 100(9936 - x) = 15 x

or 993600 - 100 x = 15 x

or 115 x = 993600

or x = 8640

Thus initial salary of man was Rs 8640

Let x be the Initial salary
Initial salary + 15% of initial salary = New Salary
x+15%(x)=9936
x+(15/100)(x)=9936
x+(3/20)(x)=9936
x+3x/20=9936
(20x+3x)/20=9936
23x=9936*20
23x=198720
x=198720/23
x=8640
Rs. 8640 was his initial salary.
