The salary of an officer is increased by 25percent. By what percent should the new salary decreased to restore the original salary?

Let his present salary be 100.
Increase % = 25%
Total Increase =( 25/100) *100
New Salary = 100+25
= 125
Decrease % =( 25/125) * 100
= 20%

Hence, the new salary should be decreased by 20% in order to restore the original salary.
