In the beginning, Gopal's salary was 100%.
His salary was raised by 10%.
10% of 100 is 10,
so the final salary would be 100 + 10 that is 110
it was then decreased by 10%
10% of 110 is 11
so new final salary would be 110 - 11 that is 99
therefore there will be a decrease of 1% from the original salary

hi I am Rupesh 2007

  • so firstly the salary of Gopal 100%
  • then it increased by 10% which is 10 only as the 10% was taken out of hundred
  • so now his salary was hundred + 10 which is110
  • then he got a decrease of 10% which is 11
  • so now after deducting 11 from 110 we get 99
  • since 99 is 99% of 100
  • therefore he got only one percent decrease in his salary
  • I hope it will help you
