the salary of mister joice is raised by 8%. if his present salary is rupees 1068 find his original salary.

let the original salary salary be x

equation: x+ 0.08x = 1068 [note : 8%= 0.08]

1.08x = 1068

x= 1068/1.08 = 989

Original Salary = Rs.989 (approximately)
