Let his initial Salary be 'x'

Now his salary is 9936

The percentage increase in salary= 15%

by the condition,

Current Salary= Initial Salary + 15% of Initial Salary.

9936= x+ (15/100)x

9936=1.15x

x= 9936/1.15

x= 8640

8640 was his initial Salary

Hope this helps
