The cost price will be ₹841.3

Given data :

• Final price of the khadi silk ₹875.

• Sales tax percentage upon the cost price is 4%.

• Let,the cost price = ₹ x (assume x as a variable to calculate the cost price of the khadi silk)

• Now,we have to calculate the 4% of the sales tax upon the cost price = x × 4/100

= ₹ x/25

• So, the final price

= (Cost price + Sales tax)

= (x + x/25)

= ₹ 26x/25

• Now,if we compare the calculated final price and the given final price

26x/25 = 875

x = 875×25/26

x = 841.3

• So,the cost price will be approximately ₹ 841.3 (answer).
