the center of structure was king and he  had power to enact laws.

There was a council of ministers to help king in administration.

The army was often led by the king himself.

The center of administration was conducted through a number of offices largely relating to the control of the revenue and each under particular officer.

The king was the head of the justice.

Apart from the metropolitan area which was directly governed, the empire was divided into four provinces, each under a prince or a royal member.

The mainstay under Mauryas  was agriculture though trade was becoming increasingly important
