Saplings are planted at every 2m 50cm = 250 cm

5 km = 5000 metres = 5000 $\times$ 100 cm

The no of saplings planted by him = $\frac{5000 \times 100}{250}$ = 2000

The remaining saplings = 2560 – 2000 = 560 .
