Satpura Range divides the river Narmada and river Tapti from each other.

Satpura means Sevenfold which originates from the southern Gujarat and from there it stretches from Maharashtra to Madhya Pradesh and ends in the state of Chhattisgarh. It is a part of the Deccan Plateau are a part of the central India.

The Satpura Range is along with the Vindhyachal ranges which are also a very important part in the southern India along with being a very important part in the central India or Deccan Plateau.

The Narmada river lies in the north of the Satpura ranges and the Tapti river is in the southern part of the Satpura ranges.

Satpura Range is a middle line for both of these rivers.
