The Savannah represents the grasslands that occupy some portion of the tropical as well as sub-tropical regions on earth. It is generally comprised of less number of trees. The summers are usually very dry and extremely less amount of rainfall occurs. Whereas the winters are extremely wet causing a flood in certain parts of the region. The main source of water in this region is the rivers on which the organisms are directly dependent on.

Due to these extreme conditions during the summer, these areas receive less or no amount of rainfall and temperature also remains comparatively very high. As a result of which drought takes place.

Thus, the Savanna region is prone to drought during the summer season.
