Given:

Ratio of Ramesh's and Varun's saving = 3 : 2

⇒ Ramesh = 3x

⇒Varun = 2x

Ratio of Ramesh's and Varun's expenditure = 3 : 4

⇒ Ramesh = 3y

⇒ Varun = 4y

Ratio of Ramesh's and Varun's icome = 4 : 5

⇒ 3x + 3y = 4

⇒ 2x + 4y = 5

Solve x and y:

3x + 3y = 4 ------------- [ 1 ]

2x + 4y = 5 ------------- [ 2 ]

[ 1  ] x 2 : 6x + 6y = 8 ------------- [ 3 ]

[ 2 ] x 3 : 6x + 12y = 15 ------------- [ 4]

[ 4 ] - [ 3 ]:

(6x + 12y) - (6x + 6y) = 15 = 8

6x + 12y - 6x - 6y = 15 = 8

6y = 7

y = 7/6

Sub y = 7/6 into [ 1 ]:

3x + 3(7/6) = 4

3x = 4 - 7/2

3x = 1/2

x = 1/6

Find the ratio of Ramesh's saving to expenditure:

Saving : Expenditure = 3x : 3y

Saving : Expenditure =  3(1/6) : 3(7/6)

Saving : Expenditure =  3/6 : 21/6

Saving : Expenditure =  3 : 21

Saving : Expenditure = 1 : 7

Answer: 1 : 7
