Actual distance between two towns is 200km.

Scale of a map =  1:4000000 (Given)

Distance between two towns = 5.5cm (Given)

= 1 cm on the map will be represented as = 4000000 cm

Therefore,

= 5 cm on the map will be represented as -

= 5 × 4000000

=20000000

or 20000000cm or 200000m or 200 km

Thus, the actual distance between the two towns will be 200km.
