Hi ,

Given scale on a map is 1 : 20000

1 cm in map = 20000 cm original

Lake Area of in the map

= 1.6 cm²

= 1.6 × cm × cm

= 1.6 × 20000 cm × 20000 cm

= 1.6 × 2 × 2 × 10^8

= 6.4 × 10^8 cm²

Therefore ,

Actual area of the lake = 6.4 × 10^8

sq cm

I hope this helps you.

Answer:6.4×10∧8 OR 640000000

Step-by-step explanation:

1^2               : 1.6

20000^2     :  ?

∴ ((20000^2 ×1.6) ÷1) = ?  ( cross multiplication)

?= 6.4× 10^8

( the number of scale we squared as the unit of area is cm^2 or m^2; in the case of volume, the numbers would be cubed)
