Req = Ra + RCb  

Now if they are in paralled circuit, then net resistance reduces reduces.  

Its formula is;  

1/Req = 1/Ra + 1/Rb

Also the more the resistance the lesser will be current flowing as per Ohm's law;

V = I x R
