In 'The Scholar Gipsy' Arnold introduces a definite criticism of Victorian's life. In this poem, the writer regrets the life of the contemporary men who have no settled reason throughout everyday life. They are completely materialistic and have almost no confidence in religion. They generally pursued cash and burn through the entirety of their energies on thousand plans. They can't stick to anything for long. Accordingly they get a progression of stuns and lose imperativeness of psyche. They develop old and weak experiencing many ups and down in course of their lives. They experience delights and distresses of life, which tiringly affects them. They attempt an excessive number of works and don't achieve fulfillment in any of them. Dis-satisfactions and dis-disillusionment are dependably in store for them. Along these lines, Arnold depicts present day life as an infected one.
