The school playground ,a 36 m2, is going to lose a part of its one corner due to construction
.The city will take triangular section that measures 12 m. x 12m on the perpendicular sides. The city has agreed to allow the school to expand the playground on the remaining two sides to replace the last area.

Hola‼..........

The area to be used in construction =

 Area of triangle ABC

= 1/2 × base ×height

=1/2 ×12 ×12 = 72 m^2

So, 72 cm^2 field will be required on remaining two sides.

Let x be the width of the strip that will be added on each of the two sides.

So, the area = >36 ×x + 36×x = 72 m^2

=> x = 1 m

Hence,the strip of 1 m will be added on each of the two sides.

Hope it's helpful.....

ANSWERThe area to be used in construction = Area of triangle ABC = 21 ×base×height= 21 ×12×12=72cm 2 So, 72cm 2 field will be required on remaining two sides.Let x be the width of the strip that will be added on each of the two sides.So, the area =36×x+36×x=72cm 2 =2×(36×x)=72⟹36×x=36⟹ x=1m
