its because ............
{ quick recap...........
firstly who is an electrician ?
=>electrician is a person who deals with electricity.
what conducts electricity?
=>metals(conducters) conduct electricity
what doesn't conduct electricity?
=> non-metals(insulator) doesn't conduct electricity }
soo.....if an electrician uses a screwdriver while fixing electric objects with a metal handle its sure that he gets an electric-shock .so the handles are made up of wood or plastic as they aint metals

As the screw driver is made of metal and all metals conduct electricity.Our body too is a conductor and the electrician may get a current shock.That is why to insulate and to avoid skin contact directly with the metal it has a plastic or wooden handle.
