THE Tethys Ocean STOOD:
India was a large island situated off the Australian coast and separated from Asia by the Tethys Ocean but in the Mesozoic Era (251 to 65.5 million years ago)when the Indian Plate and Eurasian Plate collided they formed what stands in place of the Tethys ocean,the Himalayas.
