The second and the fifth terms of a geometric sequence are 2 and 1/32 respectively. Find its common ratio and its first term.​

where a is the first term and r, the common ratio.

⇒second term =ar1=750→(1)

⇒fifth term =ar4=−6→(2)

To find r, divide ( 2) by ( 1)

⇒ar4ar=−6750

⇒r3=−1125⇒r=−15

Substitute this value into ( 1) to find a
