Let first angle be x
Then second angle = 2x
Then third angle = x - 40

Sum of all angles = 180

Therefore,

x + 2x + x - 40 = 180
4x = 220
x = 220/4 = 55

Therefore first angle = 55 degrees
Second angle = 2x = 2 X 55 = 110
Thord angle = x - 40 = 55 - 40 = 15

Given : The second angle of a triangle is double the first. The third angle is 40° less than the first.

To find : The three angles.

Solution :

We can simply solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process. (our goal is to calculate the three angles of the said triangle)

Let, the first angle = x°

So, the second angle = 2×x° = 2x°

And, the third angle = (x° - 40°)

Now, we know that sum of three angles of a triangle is 180°

According to the data mentioned in the question,

x+2x+x-40 = 180

4x = 180+40

4x = 220

x = 220/4

x = 55

So, the first angle = x° = 55°

The second angle = 2x° = 2 × 55° = 110°

The third angle = 55°-40° = 15°

Hence, the three angles are 55°,110° and 15° respectively.
