Here is your answer friend...

Muhammad Ghori laid the foundation of the Turkish Empire in India by defeating Prithviraj Chauhan in Second Battle of Tarain and Jayachanda in the Battle of Chandawar. Mahmud of Ghazni also failed to set up a Muslim empire in India and the only permanent effect of his invasions was the annexation of Punjab.

Yes, the Second battle of Tarain laid the foundation of Turkish rule in North India

Explanation:

  • In Northern India, the Second Tarain war laid the foundations for Turkish control. The Rajput rulers of India were severely defeated in this war. The Rajput power collapsed over the next ten years of this war and the Turkish rule in India was established.
  • The army of Prithviraj Chauhan defeated the forces under the command of Muhammad Ghori during the First Battle of Tarain in 1191. So Ghori came again to revenge his defeat and fought in 1192 against the Chauhans in the Second Battle of Tarain. He gained a complete victory in this fight.  Prithviraj Chauhan escaped, but was captured.
  • The Turks later invaded and seized Ajmer, even though Prtihviraj had been allowed to rule over it for a while. On his return to India in 1194, Ghori battled Jaichandra, defeated him and won territories which stretch up to the borders of Bihar in Chandawar near Kannauj. Thus the Turk established their rule over North India
