the second term of an arthematic progression sequence is 7 and the sum of the first four terms is 12. fidn the first term and the common difference of the sequence

given,
a2 = 7 =>a+d=7 -(1)
s4 = 12 => 4/2 ((2a + (n-1)d))
6 = 2(7-d) + (4-1)d
6 = 14 - 2d + 3d
-8 = d
substute d = -8 in (1)
a = 7-(-8)
a = 15

the first term of the A.P. is 15 anf the common difference is -8
