Answer:

profit \: \:  \%=  \frac{s.p.}{c.p. }  \times 100 \\   \frac{40}{100} =  \frac{2366}{c.p.}  \times 100 \\  \frac{4}{10}   \times c.p. = 236600 \\ c.p. =  \frac{236600 \times 10}{4 }  \\ c.p. =Rs \: 573200

Answer:

Cost price is of 1690₹

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that

Selling price of a toy is ₹2366

Profit is 40%

To find cost price of the toy

Solution

As we know that

selling \: price = cost \: price + profit

profit is

profit =  \frac{40}{100}  \times cost \: price

hence

2366 = cost \: price +  \frac{40}{100} \times cost \: price

now by taking cost price common

2366 = cost \: price(1 +  \frac{40}{100} )

as 40 and 100 both are divisible buly 20 hence

2366 = cost \: price(1 +  \frac{2}{5} )

by solving bracket we get

2366 = cost \: price \times  \frac{7}{5}

cost \: price = 2366 \times  \frac{5}{7}

by multiplication we get

cost \: price = 1690rs

Hence cost price of toy is 1690rs.
