MATHS

Find the semi-perimeter of an equilateral triangle whose area is 250 m2 and its circumcircle radius is 1 m.

A

15 m

B

30 m

C

35 m

D

40 m

ANSWER

Circumcircle radius = 4×s(s−a)(s−b)(s−c)abc

Where, area of the triangle = s(s−a)(s−b)(s−c)

a=b=c (Since the triangle is equilateral)

abc= a3

So, 1×4×250= a3

1000= a3

a=10 m

One side of the triangle =10 m

So, semi-perimeter of a equilateral triangle = 23×10 =15 m.
