1st path... l×b that is (40×2)m²=80m²

2nd path ....l×b that is (30×3)m²=90m²

total area is sum of 2 rectangles minus (3×2) m²

that is 164m²

Answer:

136 m square

Step-by-step explanation:

first the area of the entire garden= l*b = 40*30 = 1200

now,

area of one small garden = l*b; l = 30-2/2 = 14 and b = 40-2/2 = 19

                                                   = 19*14

                                                   = 266

fianlly,

area of shaded region = area of entire garden - 4 ( area of one small garden )

                                     = 1200 - 4( 266 )

                                     = 1200 - 1064

                                     = 136

therefore, the area of shaded region is 136 m square
