Step-by-step explanation:

40 m

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : The shadow of a pole with the height of 8m is 6m if the shadow of another pole measured at the same time is 30m

To Find: find the height of the pole

Solution:

The shadow of a pole with the height of 8m is 6m

Height : Shadow = 8:6

Let the height of the another pole be x

Length of the shadow of another pole = 30 m

Height : Shadow = x:30

ATQ

\frac{8}{6}=\frac{x}{30}

6

8

=

30

x

\frac{8}{6} \times 30=x

6

8

×30=x

40=x40=x

Hence the height of the pole is 40 m.

Answer:

Height of pole = 14m

Length of shadow = 10m

tan x = height of pole / length of shadow

tan x = 14/10 = 1.4

Now at the same time

Length of shadow of tree = 7m

Height of tree be = h m

tan x = height of tree/length of shadow of tree

1.4 = h/7

h = 9.8 m
