Let height of tower be hm and distance AD be xm

In∆ABD,

tan60°=AB/AD

√3=h/x

h=√3x.........(i)

In∆ACB,

tan30°=AB/AC

1/√3=h/40+x

h√3=40+x

√3x.√3=40+x

3x=40+x

2x=40

x=20m

From eq.i we get

h=√3x

h=1.732×20

h=34.64m

Height of tower is 34.64m.
