the shape and size of cells depends on the function they perform. the statement can be justified by the example of neuron which is the longest cell of the body it's function is to transmit the message. if it might be spherical in shape like RBC then it might take so long time to transmit message and our nervous system might be not so fast like it is now. Now if the shape of neuron is given to RBC then they might get tangled into each other. Hence the statement is justified
