The length of the other parallel side of the trapezium is 7cm.

Given,

           area of trapezium= 34 cm

           length of one of the parallel side= 10 cm

           distance between parallel sides of trapezium= height= 4cm

To find,

           length of the other parallel side of the trapezium

Solution,

To get the length of the second parallel side of the trapezium, assume that it is x cm.

Now,

As we know, area of trapezium = \frac{1}{2} (sum of parallel sides) * height

                                                34 = \frac{1}{2} (10+x)*4  (Putting the value in cm)

                                              34*2= (10+x)*4

                                               \frac{34*2}{4} = (10+x)

                                                  17= 10+x

                                                   x = 7 cm

As a result, the opposite parallel side is 7 cm long.
