Gɪᴠᴇɴ :-

  • Parallel sides = 1m and 1.2 m
  • Distance between them = 0.8 m

ᴛᴏ ғɪɴᴅ :-

  • Area of Trapezium (Surface of table)

sᴏʟᴜᴛɪᴏɴ :-

We know that,

  • Area of Trapezium = ½ × (sum of parallel sides) × (distance between them)

Put the above given values in it, we get,

 \implies \sf \: Area \:  =  \frac{1}{2}  \times (1 + 1.2) \times (0.8) \\  \\  \\  \implies \sf \: Area =  \frac{1}{2}  \times 2.2 \times 0.8 \\  \\  \\   \implies \sf \: Area =  \frac{1.76}{2}  \\  \\  \\  \implies \sf \: Area = 0.88 {m}^{2}

We get,

  • Area of trapezium (Table) = 0.88m²

Answer:

0.88 m²

Step-by-step explanation:

AREA OF A TRAPEZIUM = \frac{1}{2} ₓ ( sum of parallel sides) ₓ (perpendicular distance)

                                     Δ = {1/2 x(1+1.2)x(0.8)} m²

                                     Δ = (1/2 x 2.2 x 0.8)m²

                                     Δ = (1.1 x 0.8)m²

                                    Δ =  0.88 m²
